I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits provided are ok. You get a modest discount off certain services and you get name recognition with the company name.

    Cons

It is just too big of a company. You become a grain of sand on a beach working here after several mergers.

    Advice to Management

Improve the work/life balance. Senior management should follow through on suggestions employees put forth.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is usually way above what one would find for office work elsewhere.

    Cons

The hourly/salary pay traps you into your job and you will not make nearly as much when looking elsewhere. Most people are paid more than what they are worth elsewhere. Advancement (if any) is often based on favoritism, rather than actual performance. Working there was like a combination of "Office Space" and "Dilbert" put together. Most of the great benefits have dried up over the past 10 years and are now on par with any other large company. My pension was frozen the year after I started, while I got to see retiring employees leave with huge pensions.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your workforce. Happy workers make more productive workers, and it's not always about more money. Most folks want to leave the company after a while, but are trapped by the pay and feel extreme resentment towards management who is perceived as not genuine and overly bureaucratic. The overall environment most times was hostile and dreary. Everyone was constantly on edge and in fear of punishment of some form.
