I worked at AT&T as a contractor (More than 3 years)

Pros

High Compensation. Various job opportunities. Large staffing firm benefits program. Positive management and employee value. Flexible working schedules. Fortune 500 Company with several partnering companies for employee enrichment.

Cons

Lack of project stability. Short notice for changing or ending projects. Little communication between Temp agency staff members and employees of AT&T and contract and non-contract. Inability to project stability of employment with longevity.

Advice to Management

Each employee should be valued and treated with the same level of respect. Tenure should not be used as a crutch to dismiss unprofessional behavior. Job requirements/specifications should be evaluated and restructured for optimal employee performance. Upper management should leave their offices on a regular basis and go speak with the employees to formulate positive relationships.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

there isn't any, we worked hard for that money to reach thier extravegent goals and now they don't know how to pay our commissions since they haven't determined the structure yet.

    Cons

January pay register released and 10 minutes later a corporate notice you aren't getting your commissions until May 6

    Advice to Management

Pay the SB reps on the old scale until you implement the new scale. Do you know how you affect your employees when they have structured thier bill paying based on the monthly commission check.
Two employess in my group had to file bankruptcy due to the database fiasco last year with ROME and zip code changes.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice benefits not too difficult when you get the hang of it. However if you cant keep your a head afloat before your out of training your chances of success are slim to none.

    Cons

Corporate. Dont do this dont do that, must meet this must meet that. Promote employees to snitch on each other. Company discounts are ok on mobile bills but are horrible on home services. DO not qualify for benefits until 6 months in.

    Advice to Management

Could advance quickly if your a selling fool, other than that no one will really notice you. Can be promoted to rep assist after 6 months with moderate sales. Making goals though.
