I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great benefits
Good products
Endless opportunities
Good Salaries

Cons

Burdened by its size
Most of the processes are giant Charlie Foxtrots
To many lifers, just collecting a check, to many people whos first response to everything is "thats no my job"

Advice to Management

Good luck with the union battle, I hope the world can be rid of the CWA. Simplify processes, shorten install times.

    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Training Course information given prior to begining the job. (Taining does not simulate true working conditions)

    Cons

Unrealistic expectation of exceeding 105% productivity daily when many variables are out of your control. There is an unwritten culture to fudge your time worked, work through lunches and charge customers excessively for installation or repair services so technicians can make up for lost time and productivity. If you are ethical and work by the book you will find yourself on the fast track to get fired. They will do whatever is takes to get rid of you such as assigning bad or difficult jobs to you, have you excessively audited 2-3 times a week by managers for safety checks and will call you constantly to check your status. Managers will call you out in morning meetings in front of others and treat you with little respect. I have worked for large corporations before and never experienced a hostile work environment such as this one. Very high turnover.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to be respectful to employees, work ethically, be realistic about productivity expectations and treat employees equally. If you do that though, you would never meet your quota.

I worked at AT&T as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Team is filled with down to earth, helpful people

    Cons

Not very structured in terms of what to do with Interns

    Advice to Management

Have meetings every week with the intern, be able to communicate expectations and set deadlines.
