Negative Outlook

I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

In the early days this was an incredible job with great management supporting each and every employee with superior compensation.

Cons

As AT&T got more involved customer service and product success became second to profits ultimately forcing good employees to leave as well as potentially great clients to cancel and switch to the competition. It is a really a sad story

Advice to Management

My advice to upper management is to listen to those who are on the street everyday. Your soldiers are the ones in the trenches fighting the competition and they know what is required to have a successful program

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is pretty decent for not having to dig ditches.
Company gets new and innovative products.
Good benefits (most people stay because of the benefits package).

    Cons

Get promoted based on who you know.
    Terrible management.
No real leaders just a bunch of puppets running the show and not using reason or leadership skills to motivate employees.
The company comp structure changes enough where it is almost impossible to make more money.
The company is not on the cutting edge of technology or plans (typically follows in Verizons footsteps).
Reps are forced to sell flawed products such as home phones and services that dont get installed and then written up for not hitting quotas.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees as assets not liabilities. Anyone can take the easy road and just discipline employees for numbers, how about try to motivate them to reach their goals instead of intimidating and threatening. Very cover your @ss attitude by management where they will do anything to get recognition and do nothing to deserve the recognition.
