Pros

Smart people, good core technology, adequate resources. Pretty good benefits.

Cons

Upper management doesn't seem to have a grasp of what is happening at customer level. Resources, promotions and decisions often based on manager to manager relationships and not on sound business reasoning.

Advice to Management

Promote and resource parts of business that are generating growth and profit. Save your slashing for the loosing part of the business EVEN IF you've known those people and that part of the business forever.

    Pros

Pay is excellent, training is very helpful, Amazing benifits and compensation!! When I think of AT&T I think MONEY. They take care of their employees.

    Cons

2 out of the 4 managers I worked for were actually knowledgeble about products and services, POS transactions etc. The other 2 were basically just "managers" not leaders. They had no experience in actually selling phones, or working on the floor, they just know how to run the store and keep it ticking. (With the help of a highly paid Inventory Manager..)

    Advice to Management

It would be nice if ALL the managers were on board with what goes on in the store. If need be, they should be fully equiped with how to close a sale, MAKE a sale, and be a leader. There IS a difference in a LEADER and a manager.

    Cons

Commission structure changes yearly; Scheduling can be tight and not flexible.

    Advice to Management

Understand that we are the wheels that make AT&T run. We see the retail experience firsthand and it is very different from your office where on paper everything looks black and white. Gray areas to exist! Please remember, also, that to have a well functioning company you have to treat your employees well. Better benefits, Better pay, and flexibility in scheduling will make an employee more willing to do more for their employer. AT&T can utilize some of these theories in their treatment in employees. They are generally a good company but some of the things that they are lacking in can make the difference between a good company and a great one.
