"Not bad..."

I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, good advancement opportunities, will often promote from within. Overall a pretty good place to work. You have to do a lot of learning opportunities, some online. Not bad overall.

Cons

Like any retail place, the hours can stink. Managers tend to come in and out

    Pros

This company promotes training for individuals

    Cons

Unfortunately with the workload you don't have the time to take the training

    Advice to Management

I've never seen so many unskilled senior managers that were promoted to Directors in my career. Just because a person is good as an individual contributor doesn't mean they know how to manage people and get the most out of their people.

  2. "Be prepared to beg for what you've earned"

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Training, benefits, and the technology.

    Cons

Reactionary political environment where achievement is mostly based on who you know. Payment of commissions is the equivalent of a Ponzi scheme. A sales director actually took pride in addressing team and stating "I can't get you your commissions". Now that's motivating.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing games with employees' pay. Sales people are incentivized to sell more which effects the company's bottom line; allow them to do the job.
