I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

Pros

pay, benefits, uniform allowance, new phones

Cons

Constantly threatened you will lose your job if you don't meet the unrealistic quotas, hiring discrimination, unrealistic metrics and grading systems they hold you accountable for, unethical managers, HR is very separated and does not have an idea what goes on in the stores which is how the mangers are able to abuse and mistreat workers and along with the other half dozes HR violations.

They will constantly document everything, coach you almost everyday, make you set "commitments" of what you will sell so they can fire you if you don't reach it.

Advice to Management

Incorporate a way to make sure HR can see first hand what occurs in stores and try to actually care about your employees.

I worked at AT&T (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay if on top. Good people to work with. The managers care about you, they just have pressure to hit targets just like the sales teams do so they are stressed!
Great health benefits!!! This is much needed in todays environment.
    Free phone and usage!

    Cons

Too many sales targets!! VERY strong focus on sales to the point where to many sales reps get desperate and do things they shouldn't do to hit targets.
Retail hours and weekend work and holiday work required.
Union - The union they have is not very good. Sad.

    Advice to Management

Focus on customer retention more. You can see and tell what a sales representative is doing wrong by how many features fall off an account.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, benefits and employee discounts

    Cons

The company from the top doesn't care about people at all. Some immediate managers do care and some don't. If they cared about the employees as people there wouldn't be as much turnover. They also discriminate when hiring.
