    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Longevity and an awesome supplier of current technology.

    Cons

Consistent commission change and the eminent threat of disciplinary action if your willingness to recommend scores are too low. The customer may LOVE you but be ticked with AT&T and if surveyed, say exactly that, but you will be judged not on your performance, instead you will be judged on the negative comments about the company. It would be one thing if the customers knew that, but you cannot tell them that they are going to receive a survey.

    Advice to Management

Work in the retail store for ONE day and see if you feel the same way about the policies after you leave.

  2. "As a former employee and returning as a consultant, it seems like the company is more scattered since the late 90's."

I worked at AT&T as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Fairly easy-going management
    - Flexible work arrangement
    - Work remotely a few days a week or in inclement weather

    Cons

    - Projects are too nebulous - no clear direction
    - Can take awhile before someone will even acknowledge that something needs to be done

    Advice to Management

Spend a little more time getting to know what people are working on and provide your ideas up front instead of letting them go off for awhile thinking they're doing the right thing and THEN telling them what you had in mind
