    Pros

Lots of job security. Lots of opportunity to advance if you're management. Tremendous leverage with vendors. Ok benefits. AT&T does strongly encourage their employees to continue building their career and offers ample opportunity for training or furthering education. Part of the benefits package covers a respectable amount of education expenses. Another big positive is AT&T policy is one of the most egalitarian around. They support LGBT employees and benefits coverage.

    Cons

Not very focused on technology, well behind competitors. Very conservative culture, adverse to change. Recently changed bonus structure to a stack ranking system like the one credited with Microsoft's decline and toxic work environment. This was effectively a major pay cut for the majority of employees...and if you were at the top, you might have stayed even. Their benefits are lackluster. No paid parental leave for fathers beyond standard vacation. Medical is "ok", but most affordable plans are high deductible plans. Very oddball prohibitions like no plants on your desk or no coffee machines in the office.
