Pros

If you plan on spending a long time with one company and want to build a long term career, this is a great place for you. The LDP program gives you lots of exposure to different projects. Once you become an "LDP" you are branded as someone who is a fast tracker and you will be tapped for various opportunities over your peers. Also has some great benefits.

Cons

Can be very bureaucratic (the downside of working at any large company). To succeed, you have got to have that "go-getter" attitude. Don't expect for anyone to hand you anything. If you want to advance in the company, be prepared to spend a lot of time in Dallas. Promotions are also sparse. The union is an absolute headache to work with. Unfortunately there is little you can do about this. Just put in your time with the management rotation, and quickly move on.

Advice to Management

While management has a good understanding of what's happening at headquarters, they fail to understand other parts of the US.

...Due to poor management, I got freely did my job without bosses around
...Up and coming products and services offered in the communications world
    ....iPhone

    Cons

....Promotions are not based on sales performance, only if upper leadership liked you.
....Companies direction towards customer service surveys is a very unjust way to judge how well your store performed
....It does not take anyone a year to advance like they position it. And depending on what state you lived in, you had no where to advance
...Very impersonal company, just another number
    ....Babysit employees ie Sales Consultants
....Put in choke mode when it's donate your money season

    Advice to Management

....Upper Leadership should consist of more people who worked in the Retail Stores, not any ol' Joe who didn't work in the store. Yet they are the ones who criticize how Retail Stores are ran.
....AT&T is driven on sales and people who are not achieving sales metrics are being promoted. Popularity contest
.....AT&T strives on being the best of the best, however they shuffle managers around instead of hiring and firing the right people. Constantly going in circles.
