Some red tape as it is a massive company.

I have been working at AT&T (More than 10 years)

    Pros

AT&T is five years into its transformation and plans to emerge in 2020 as an all IP-based network by shedding most legacy networks and systems and retooling the entire workforce to be software thinkers. Innovation is apparent and the vision is strong at the general manager level up through executive. Training is encouraged and provided on next-generation technologies.

    Cons

Unfortunately, some managers at AT&T haven't embraced the Company's vision to empower it managers and continue to drive them using outdated command & control approaches. Many general managers need to be pushed to retire especially those who haven't taken steps to evolve. There are other diminishing managers who view employees as objects and only see revenue growth over employee well being. If AT&T removes the diminishers and pushes the dinosaur managers out that have been there 35-40 years then AT&T will be a great company for which to work.
