I worked at AXA Equitable full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Generally, smart, hardworking and friendly coworkers
    - Collegial and collaborative atmosphere amongst the rank and file
    - A long, proud tradition of success

    Cons

    - The new senior management team, which joined in 2011, is completely out of touch with the employees. Morale could not be lower.
    - The industry is experiencing struggles in general, but senior management is attacking the problems with very little imagination. Cutting employees and leasing costs will not create growth.

    Advice to Management

A serious attitude change (or regime change?) in the senior management ranks could get things turned around quickly, but time is running out, as good employees continue to leave in droves. How can you ask your employees to all move to Jersey City when you are not willing to?

I have been working at AXA Equitable full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you are already at or near the top of your career - more specifically, if you come in at the VP level here at AXA Equitable or better, it's a fantastic place to work. Work life balance can't be beat and workload & associated stress quite manageable. This said, you need to be comfortable making the same salary for the next 5-10 years. Once you get in, it's like a government job - you need to go out of your way to get fired. If you have a family, it's a comfortable place to work and still get home at a reasonable hour.

    Cons

If you are still early in your career, AXA Equitable is unfathomably toxic. It's not uncommon to go without a raise or promotion for 5 years; destroying, or at least greatly delaying your chances of building a solid career foundation. Again, if you accept an offer to work here - make sure you're comfortable with that number - you'll be seeing it on your paycheck for years to come.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the difference between young workers with a lot of potential, and your old, tired workforce. People who are already making a comfortable salary will be content without a raise or promotion for years to come. Your young workforce is your future - invest in them.
