I have been working at Abbott Labs full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Quality employes, pay and benefits. Knowledge gained by Abbott system of quality management is huge. Abbott is a nonunion employer.

Cons

Upper management can not make a decision when things are at their worst. Abbott lives by diversity to the detriment of the white male.

Advice to Management

Make decisions and live by the choice you make. Do not kick the can to the next level of management.

I have been working at Abbott Labs full-time

    Pros

Co-workers are nice and some are good to be friends with. Set hours (and you can pick the set hours), weekends off. The pay.
That about wraps the "pros" up.

    Cons

Managers take credit for what their "team" does.
Micromanaging is absolutely terrible. Its practically babysitting
The technology there is really out of date. Windows XP? Really... It's 2012...
Most people there only know how to do *their* job only. They don't know how to do anything else.
Contractors getting treated very, very, poorly.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with praises or rewards. Also don't forget the contractors, if it wasn't for them, your employees would have a ton more work NOT getting done. Update your technology. It's more efficient that way.
