I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

At first it was a very fun job, lively music, many things to learn about the aspects of managing a store. Managers had to be quite autonomous, creating weekly schedules, training teams, hiring/recruitment, keeping track of sales goals, having weekly meetings, making daily deposits at the bank, etc.

    Cons

The job title "model" is used as a means to only hire beautiful people, even if they work horribly. I had several people under me who did not work and often worked a lot of overtime to have the store cleaned up as a result. Upper management was very discriminatory and promotions were not given on merit. There was a lot of dishonesty, internally, theft and high turnover. Salaries were really low and we were forced to work 50 hour weeks (60 hours around Christmas time) - paid HALF pay for additional hours and not given time off during holidays.

    Pros

Fun people to be around if you, develop friendships and great way to start right out of college

    Cons

work life balance sucks, never good enough mentality and politics. Stressful and draining in the end.
