I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (More than a year)

Pros

you meet some great people, you're managers are mostly around your age so you definitely can connect with them easily. The job is very easy, you just walk around, greet people, and fold clothes.

Cons

the look policy of the company is a little too demanding. also you don't have much room for growth and promotions. you're stuck in the same position.

Advice to Management

You should really consider hiring undergraduates as managers, many are definitely qualified for the position. you guys require a four year college degree, for not a very hard job.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    ~Physically attractive co-workers
    ~you wear jeans to work
~management hand picks staff, potentially you could build a staff of friends
    ~good management training program

    Cons

~supervisors are underqualified to manage and overpressured to produce
~supervisors give false promises of promotions
    ~you work at the mall
~you have to keep buying clothes that are only appropriate for the mall
~even though you may think you're doing really well, your supervisor and his/her supervisor are slashing through employees to promote their favorite regardless of "measurables"
~Career opportunies are available if you are willing to be walked all over for years
~promote great values/RMs and DMs systematically oppose publicized values
    ~closing stores domestically

    Advice to Management

To the RMs and DMs: Realized that you are creating the future by highering so many young people. It is pathetic that you direct each other to lie on your employee reviews and reports. You go in and change your employees passwords. You are morally bankrupt and you take advantage of 17 and 18 year olds.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Allows you to gain experience managing a store and implementing strict standards. Working with fellow managers is usually a positive experience. In a mall setting, mostly in what would be your more affluent shopping areas.

    Cons

Long hours, low pay, little to no job security. Impossible visual and people standards. Little help from upper management. Holidays are horrendous. Many broken promises from district managers, hard to get promoted.
