I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The employees were great. The discount was ok for managers. It was 40% regular priced items .

Cons

I was a visual assistance manager and the hours were crazy, a lot of work and that pay was ok. The management schedule was not flexible.

Advice to Management

Flexible hours for managers

    Pros

Great health insurance and lots of training
Was able to transfer to a new city and the company helped with relocation costs

    Cons

Sometimes only had a few hours to sleep between shifts
Worked 6 days a week on salary
Not much potential to eventually make much money, even with regular promotions
    Shallow hiring practices
    Too much turnover in management

    Advice to Management

Be willing to pay your managers more and hold onto them rather than continuing to hire new ones

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Challenging with constant opportunities for personal growth, extremely casual atmosphere, lots of responsibility.

    Cons

Doesn't care about longterm happiness or growth of employees. Apathetic HR representative Bill Piper. Growth of career isn't remotely based on actual quantitative accomplishment but based on friendships with upper management.

    Advice to Management

Upper management and HR should be way more involved and knowledgeable about the actual "leadership" and "management" of their team leaders and managers. Their is no accountability for team leaders or managers.
