I have been working at Academy Sports & Outdoors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is tremendous growth and opportunity and almost everyone you work with knows that and is trying to build something special. The company is probably going to go public and will be a national brand.

    Cons

With all the growth and change, there is a LOT of work to be done. If you want a 35 hour a week job where you surf the internet between meetings this is not the place for you. There are a lot of new people and that brings its own set of challenges.

There have been losses and in particular one team, the PMO, seems to have suffered the most. (You can tell that from some of the other reviews here). I don't know if that's a function of leadership or the work.

At this point growth and organizational change is a near constant. If that's something you struggle with (temporary offices while construction is under way, parking challenges, etc) you might wait a few months to submit your application.

    Advice to Management

Pay just a little more attention to what's happening. You might save some money on future legal fees.
