    Pros

Accenture is a great place for more junior level technologists to begin their career or explore the different positions within high-tech. Opportunities for career advancement are there, as long as you take control of your career early on. There is definitely support from senior staff and management, but as I've heard, this is project-by-project basis. I've definitely had support and mentorship when I've sought it, and had opportunities to mentor occasionally. A small percentage of employees climb the ladder very quickly and are very happy with their positions.

    Cons

While career advancement opportunities are there, promotions are not always fair. Generally, the company is given a number of employees that they can promote, and some are pushed into the non-promotion group even if they could have advanced in other companies, or other project teams. Turnover is generally high in this sector of consulting and there are number of reasons for that including the unfairness in the promotion matrix. Compressed salaries, and getting pigeon-holed into a project that does not have many opportunities for advancement are also to blame.

    Advice to Management

Some of my colleagues look forward to opportunities to work abroad, but this should not be advertised as guaranteed. In fact, the company will look out for itself first, and will prevent some employees from reaching their goals if it does not benefit the company. I would prefer a much more open platform between leadership and staff to discuss these matters.
