Pros

Get to work with very smart people for some of the biggest and best clients.

Cons

Balancing your working life and personal time is always a challenge.

Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to have the tough discussion with a client about timelines rather than just expecting that your employees will give up their personal time to meet deadlines.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Consulting:
    1. You get to work on a variety of projects and with variety of project teams so there is a lot to learn. 2. Additionally, you are surrounded by smart colleagues which forces you to excel in anything and everything.
    3. Most of the times, you get to work from client site and there is lot of travel involved (only if you are interested...else choose a project with low / no travel).
    4. There is flexibility in terms of choosing projects. Normally, you get a choice while taking on a project.

    Cons

    Consulting:
    1. Accenture is not a good paymaster. Generally, it takes people from smaller companies but at a lower pay-grade because of its Brand Value.
    2. Accenture puts you in such a bracket that you will not be able to leave also (because of work) and if you continue, you will always feel that you are underpaid (considering your friends from earlier companies of equal / less caliber).

    Advice to Management

Improve the salaries in consulting to retain employees.

  2. "fun and satisfying work place"
