I worked at Accenture full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

You will learn more than you can imagine, enjoy great camraderie and diversity of experience. There is no better business school than being dropped into different companies and learning about the operational and organizational problems and being part of the team that resolves them.

Cons

The travel is extensive. I spent 5 years living in a suitcase. It was exciting at first but it begins to take a toll on your personal life. Your career depends on how good a career counselor you have and you will work with some excellent people and some who have no business being in the industry. It's mostly positive. Work/life balance is simply non-existent. The culture is driven by deadlines and you can't move ahead unless you drink the cool aid.

Advice to Management

Managing Directors (aka Partners, aka Senior Executives) are not always in tune with the needs of their reports. They are driven by budget and not hesitant to demand huge inconveniences and sacrifices from their direct reports. As a junior person you simply cannot refuse.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Above average concentration of very smart people. Growth opportunities provided by a clear career model. You can make a relevant experience and learn and grow a lot.

    Cons

Human relationships and manners somewhat questionable. High level of stress and pressure, not sure is the place where you feel at home and want to stay for all your career, unless you get to the very top.

I worked at Accenture full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Excellent growth opportunities.
Good projects in multiple technologies and different domains.
    Good work culture and environment.
    Flexible work hours.

    Cons

How can a person with just 8 - 10 years of experience be a Senior Manager? Courtesy - stick to the same project and supervisor!! This has led to lot of immature folks in Senior positions and mismanagement of Clients, projects and employees in general.

    Advice to Management

Recognize and reward talent and experience, not folks who play caste, religion, language and region politics. This is against Accenture's core values. Inspite of this I'm proud to have been working for Accenture and given a choice would not hesitate to work for Accenture again!
