I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great benefits
Work from home
Great boss
Technically interesting work
Autonomy

Cons

No long term career growth
Pay is OK.
Budget so tight that training and tools are less than the average for a software development position
Leadership appears disengaged from those in the trenches.
Leadership is focused on fire-fighting and not on planning, modernization, and the well-being of those in the trenches.
Big disconnect between parent company and subsidiary leadership.
Rewards are not connected to performance.
Focus on individual rewards set up to undermine motivation to work as team.

Advice to Management

Stop focusing on cutting costs, squeezing people, and squeezing margins to maximize shareholder value.
Stop focusing on fire-fighting and start focusing on preventing crises and on building capacity.
Focus on quality not costs.
Change reward system to reward cross-functional teamwork far more.

I worked at Accenture full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The biggest plus is that they'll hire you out of college and they don't seem to care what your major is or how well you did in school. There are tons of positions so you can learn quite a lot in a short amount of time. They also provide a fairly good training budget so you can get at least one industry training class per year if you work the system properly.

    Cons

They will absolutely kill you. There are two types of employees at Accenture - the worthless filler people and the small number that do all of the work. If you show any aptitude you will be abused. This is not necessarily all bad - you will learn a ton while you're getting killed but at some point you will burn out and need to move on. Make sure you are always looking for a new job after you get around 2 years of experience and don't worry about leaving anyone behind.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people as better than just numbers and you'll have better retention.
