I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are quite a few benefits that come with working at a large consulting company like Accenture, namely the opportunity to build different functional skills and expertise across industries very quickly right out of school. There's also opportunities such as:
    - Building soft consulting skills (presentations, business analysis, working independently and as part of a team)
    - Paid time off - 25 days a year seems to be standard though I've heard of other people getting more
    - Travel (some people consider this a benefit), although, don't hold your breath for a project overseas or even in a good location
    - Flexibility; you generally work from home on Fridays which means you can manage yourself one day a week

    Cons

    - Salary usually starts off competitive to get you in the door and then doesn't really move more than 2-3% except for promotions, even if you really excel. Most consultants make way below their market worth and Accenture doesn't budge
    - Work-life balance can be ATROCIOUS, while you're not technically required to work more than a standard workday, you actually are.
    - Bureaucracy - Accenture is a massive organization and thus extremely difficult to navigate if you don't have solid connections. They like to pretend that there's a process to request transfers to different groups, offices, etc. but they will make your life a living hell if you have an interest or need that doesn't jive with the "needs of the business".
    - Cool-Aid - they force it down your throat but if you have a head on your shoulders you see pretty quickly that they don't value people and personal development as much as they claim
    - Training - they claim to be a leader in training folks but what usually happens is you come in and go to a training program and then afterwards it's extremely difficult to get time to attend any in-person trainings. I've heard of people having to wait 2 additional years after being promoted to get into the next level of training
    - Benefits - they cut back on benefits last year and will probably continue to nickel and dime the employees

    Advice to Management

You acknowledge that you hire the best and brightest; why do you treat them as drones and pay them poorly relative to other consulting companies? Talent is slowly drifting away from Accenture; you need to recognize that and address it before it's too late.
