I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

This company is definitely good beginning experience. The best things about my role are the work life balance because overtime has to be authorized and schedules can sometimes be flexed. The company also offers lots of paid time off. The people are nice and easy to work with for the most part and the supplemental benefits (life lock, pet insurance) are nice, as well.

Cons

The pay is way below average for degreed individuals in San Antonio… forget about being paid on a national scale. There is not a lot of growth opportunity at the senior analyst level, which includes lateral movement. Non-federal roles are mostly call center operations and there are little to no opportunities to work from home. Most all roles require working with an offshore team and are customer service, despite what your title is. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of micromanagers in lead positions, which is counterproductive and inefficient.

Advice to Management

Don't treat lower level employees (e.g., call center employees) like children. Monitoring bathroom breaks, lunches, and keystrokes doesn't match Accenture culture or encourage people to stay. The goal is to get the job done, not play nanny and waste managerial resources.

I worked at Accenture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay well and have above average benefits. The company learning is the same for cube jockeys as consultants. Take full advantage of this.

    Cons

Level A to levels B and C are rife with ineptness. Level A's are brought in from the outside and they bring their damaged culture with them. Level B & C are experts at tossing candy to the cube jockeys. They lack vision to meet the contact demands much less be innovative with the process and make the process better.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring from the outside based on what you think will work. Roll up your sleeves to see how the job actually gets done and find out what it takes to make a financial services contract actually renew.
