Pros

Great work experience and opportunities. You get exposure to things that you normally would not in a corporate work environment. You are given opportunities to learn a drastic amount in a short time-frame and it teaches you to be quick on your feet. Accenture has a lot of talented people who make working on projects a lot of fun. Everyone is young and driven and that really makes for a great work environment. If do not mind the long hours and travelling, it is a great place to work!

Cons

Work/life balance is difficult due to the amount of work required. Compensation also isn't up to par with the amount of work required.

Advice to Management

provide better opportunities for employees to work in home location and also try to manage work/life balance better.

    Pros

Great place to start your career. The training opportunities are fantastic at each level - and for those who take initiative to make 'training happen', it only gets better.

Diversity of experience - The work can be interesting, and I've always felt the true value derived from a consulting career is broad exposure to multiple client environments.

    Cons

The hours can be very demanding, with very little payback. If you're willing to work long hours as a new professional, technology consulting at Accenture will not reward you the way it used to (when Analysts and Consultants received pay for every hour of overtime worked). I made more my first year as a consultant than I did my first year as a manager (3 years later) - so I decided to leave and take a job in industry which payed 30% more.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and be frank with the project team you are responsible for. Too I found senior executives unwilling to listen to good ideas from junior staff members.

    Pros

Training and exposure to process and methodology. Well run and decent focus on both profitability for the company and the right outcome for the client. Chance to work in global environment - can also mean the global workforce and hours. Performance management process is done nicely - competitive but also tries to be fair. Ensures people complete reviews.

    Cons

a lot of travel required. push toward outsourcing stifles creativity and the reason many people go into "consulting." Politics of course. Management is very risk averse. The think straight / talk straight manta of Andersen Consulting is completely gone. Migration toward solution workforce.

    Advice to Management

    none
