I worked at Active Network full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Freedom to create, no micromanagement

Cons

- No management whatsoever
- Management was disinterested in me as a person
- I felt abandoned; a little input from time to time would have been greatly appreciated
-Although I knew I produced a high volume of quality work, an occasional compliment or word of recognition would have gone a long way.
 - The Active Network is not on my list of "Best Places to Work".
 - Working at Active was draining...nighty meetings averaged three times a week with China.

Advice to Management

Manage PEOPLE.
Encourage PEOPLE.
Value PEOPLE.

I have been working at Active Network full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - "Walks the walk" in terms of promoting a healthy lifestyles
    - Good benefits and PTO once you're there for a few years
    - Great people in the trenches

    Cons

    - New C-level management has verbally told employees "I don't care about you, and some of you will be fired"
    - Going public, along with subsequent C-level hirings has KILLED morale
    - The previously unmatched culture has all but disappeared
    - Upper management has put ridiculous pressure on all levels of employee thanks to maniacally-unrealistic timeframes for huge, consumer-facing projects

    Advice to Management

I'm not sure there is anything that can be done to save the company. Its former glory will probably never be regained.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

HR is already working on it, but we need more visibility into the structure of the company, who to contact for opportunities.
