Pros

My recruiter was phenomenal. I had never worked as a consultant prior to becoming an employee for ASG; I had always worked full time w/ benefits positions. Having reached my maximum salary and unable to attain any higher level positions at my previous employer, I sought ASG's assistance in placing me in a Consultants role for a Fortune 500 IT Company within the St. Louis area. I worked with my recruiter to freshen up my resume, practice interview questions and he also addressed my concerns related to moving from a FT w/ benefits position to a Consultant role. ASG and my recruiter made the process simple and the transition went smooth. ASG helped me leave my prior position and move on to a higher paying role that allowed me to move up the corporate ladder. Furthermore my employment with ASG most recently allowed me to move from the contractor role at the Fortune 500 Company, to a Full Time Employee role, with benefits and a pension just after a year. I have nothing negative to say about my recruiter or ASG. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to broaden their IT professional career.

Cons

I have nothing negative to say about ASG or their team, I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for me.

Pros

Company culture around your peers is great. Office environment and collaboration/teamwork with fellow recruiters and account managers is engaging and rewarding. When things are rolling, the job can be fun, and the compensation can ramp up quick (but there is a ceiling).

Cons

Small company that has "closed door" conversations nearly every day, most of the time talking about fellow employees that are in the office. The office politics and company favorites are obvious, and management doesn't treat everyone the same, especially if your numbers are even slightly below the everchanging goal. The micromanagement on the recruiting side can get out of control even if your numbers are fine, and Account Managers have way more overall flexibility and minimal micromanagement compared to recruiters which (at times) causes a rift between recruiters and AMs. Management tends to change things just because and the benchmarks are a moving target. If you don't do all of the thing's management asks of you then they ramp up the micromanagement to a frustrating point. The recruiter expectations are to juggle multiple goals at once and if you fall short on one then that is the focus, not the ones you exceeded expectations on.
