Pros

Decent salary for the area, co-workers are easy to get along with, not to much stress on a daily basis.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for advancement, largest employer in the area so there is no competition unless you want to relocate.

Advice to Management

The line staff, managers, and directors are your most valuable asset not the Physicians. Start listening and implementing some of the ideas of the staff and allow it to be a two way street not driven from the top down.

I have been working at Adirondack Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Everyone cares about doing things right by the patient. Excellent new CEO and a good group in middle management. The work/life balance is amazing.

    Cons

Communication can sometimes be a problem, but that happens everywhere. Sometimes low performing employees are given too many opportunities. Not a lot of room for professional growth due to hospital size.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to be a lot more visible when possible. They are respected by everyone, but not completely beloved
