I worked at Adobe as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Adobe is a great company. Has great work-life balance and overall employee retention seems high.

Cons

The eCommerce team was not very well organized and did not have much in the way of onboarding and training documentation for new hires. It was very difficult to learn what were the proper processes in order to get your job done. Because there had been some significant turnover in that department, there were a lot of contractors who all seemed to be struggling to figure out to do their jobs. After I left, this team did undergo a huge re-org, so maybe they fixed those issues.

I have been working at Adobe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are equal to any in the tech field (including Google). Technology is solid. Company and brand are world class. Company is very profitable.

    Cons

Adobe is having issues adjusting their product lineup with an "in the cloud" strategy. This has allowed some product lines (mostly those acquired via acquisition) to be somewhat adrift in their business and product strategy. Adobe is excessively obsessed with 1) organizational structure, 2) product naming conventions, and 3) corporate secrecy. There is not a high tolerance for failure or creative ideas. Mostly you have to follow the corporate philosophy and not make too many waves.

    Advice to Management

Internal communication needs to be more open and effective. Company strategy and budget (and direction) need to be communicated in a more timely and effective manner. Integration of products from acquisitions needs to be clearly articulated

I have been working at Adobe full-time

    Pros

Great Perks, Benefits. Adobe strives to be a good corporate citizen, fosters innovation and creativity. Telecommuting can help with work life balance or break it.

    Cons

Global teams mean around the clock meetings. Can be a pro or con for work life balance. Can sometimes be a little "too big" and you will run in to some red tape from time to time.
