Great Place to Work if You Land on The Right Clique
Mar 22, 2023 - Product Manager in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Incredibly talented and friendly coworkers - Great mentors all over the place - Team is agile and gets the job done - Clear vision and prioritization from leadership - You get to work on products used all over the world. You will make an impact. - Great pay and benefits - Hybrid/remote work culture - Lots of days off: unlimited PTO (works if you get a chill manager like mine), wellness day off every other month, company wide week off (5 days) in summer and another one in winter, sabbaticals every 5 years - There's a reason why Adobe is known for retaining employees for 10, 15, 25 years. Adobe cares about work/life balance and employees mental and physical health.
Cons
- This is a big company. Not everyone has the same experience. Your experience will be highly dependent on your manager and team. Your manager sets the culture. Make sure you vet your manager. I know people that love Adobe and others that don't -- depends on the team and manager. - Like all companies, there are limited resources and many projects competing for those resources. You need to make sure your project is a priority for the company. Otherwise, you won't get anything done and you will leave out of frustration. Everyone will be friendly with you but no one will actually help you. - Some teams don't know where they fit in the organization and have an identity crisis. - Lots of tribal knowledge. Difficult to get started. - For Product Managers: the organizational structure is difficult to understand. Lots of cross-functional teams that you need to work with and no instructions on who you need to work with. Takes time and setbacks to learn. - Like all companies, it is difficult to climb the latter given the incredible talent in the company and limited senior level positions. Talent alone will get you nowhere. You need to network and get on the right clique.

Not a single bad thing to say
Jun 7, 2023 - Talent Partner in Denver, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work life balance, opportunities to move to other internal teams, clear path to promotion, growth opportunities for what you're interested in (not just want your manager wants you to accomplish), executive mentorship programs, volunteer programs, the list really goes on
Cons
The hybrid work policy is a bit fuzzy right now, it seems like something leadership is scrutinizing but individual orgs are pushing their own philosophies. *most* offices are a bore to attend, so that makes for difficult motivation to visit regularly. Exceptions are San Jose and San Francisco.
