I worked at Advance America full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Easy Work
Good Training
Mostly Fun Customers

Cons

Unless you are a center manager, your pay is almost minimum wage.
District Managers (DDOs) can make or break the atmosphere.
Somewhat pushy to meet sales goals for cross-selling.
Pre-paid card and any services related to it are crap and suck money out of people already in need of extra cash.

Advice to Management

Get better DDOs. I was a CSR and Assistant Manager, but I am an extremely intelligent person and could have done the DDO job much better than most.
Get rid of that CRAP PRE-PAID NETSPEND CARD.
That's all, it was a nice place to work really. Depends on who your managers are, though, I am sure.

    I have been working at Advance America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Family like atmosphere, competitive salary base, room for advancement, open door and communication policy between all levels from CSR to CEO, ability to make independent decisions to meet customer needs within the parameters of the law. Great working hours hours, vacation package, and holiday pay.

    Cons

    Loss of vacation hours when not taken. And your not always able to take it due to lack of employee coverage. They have a use it or loose it policy when EARNED vacation should have a cash out option if given extenuating circumstances your unable to take it due to lack of coverage. Bonuses are offered but the payout compensation is lacking. This is truly the only major con to working for the company.

    Advice to Management

    Better bonus payouts. Hold management accountable equally not allow things to slide because a center is performing.

    the pay day loan industry is changing and they care more about the money than protecting the workers
