Former Employee - Marketing Associate in Washington, DC
Former Employee - Marketing Associate in Washington, DC
Approves of CEO

Pros

Fun office culture, good work-life balance, great sales experience. Promotes internally- a lot of room for advancement within the company. Surrounded by fun, smart people from great schools

Cons

I felt that the position was somewhat mis-marketed. "Marketing Associate" as a title is a misnomer, and during the recruiting/interviewing process I did not feel that the difference between sales and marketing position was established.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

in Austin, the work atmosphere is very laid back and good for most employees. it is very casual and as long as you meet your deadlines and proactively getting work done, you are in a great spot.
some managers are great at giving feedback and in career management.
    - they built a new office which is very creative and modern

    Cons

    - hiring people at varying levels of experience for the same job/ title. there are people who have 2 years of experience outside of school managing people with 7/8 years of experience. it just doesn't make sense.
    - salary is pretty much tied to promotions, if you don't get promoted you are stuck at a pretty low salary.
    - Salary levels are not very competitive, you can jump to a consulting firm from here and start with a really good package.

    Advice to Management

    - Hire experienced people appropriately & treat them well
    - Relook your salary package, you can't let it stay at 2008 - 2009 levels.
