Pros

Hospital has a friendly atmosphere and good resources available for patient and employees. Good training offered to new graduate nurses.

Cons

Sometimes equipment that is ordered for a patient is in short supply. The patient rooms in parts of the hospital are old, small, crowded, and sometimes things are in disrepair.

Advice to Management

Communication with employees is very good. Please continue to work on nursing staffing issues - understaffing, floating, and self scheduling not always working very well are things that continue to affect morale.

    Pros

The IS team is an exceptional group of people. Networking within Advocate is a plus. Work/Life balance is a plus.
Advocate is a good company that could be a great company .
I believe with the changes taking place, at this time, it will become a great place to work.

    Cons

Associates that don't care about quality. Associates that do not have the knowledge or skills to do their job. Associates in patient services and patient care positions need to be more professional. The front line associates make the first and lasting impressions, but many lack the knowledge, compassion and skills for these very important positions.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to evaluate the hiring practices of the human resource department. Particularly, the PSR, administrative supervisors and the managers.

    Pros

Large health system with mobility between sites. The system has a great deal of potential in the Chicago land area and is affiliated with a very large number of excellent physicians. Many hospitals have been recognized by a variety of organizations. Very good first line staff who are focused on doing the right thing for the right reasons.

    Cons

Very controlling central office on policies. They try to elicite input but few speak up for fear of retribution. Depending on site, upper management are eitist with little walking around to really know the needs and people. Not impressed with the overall HR functions.

    Advice to Management

Care for the staff as much as you want them to care for the patients. Make your Senior managment team know their hospitals. Demand some accountability from the Senior leaders and HR team. The satisfaction of staff continues be be low.
