I worked at Aetna full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to work from home, good salary and eligible for bonuses.

    Cons

No employee loyalty when downsizing staff - was laid off when the economy tanked in 2010. Replaced with contractual employees that we were told would only stay if they received a certain contract - which they did not.

    Advice to Management

Full time regular employees are worth more than contractual employees who are just hired.

I worked at Aetna full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Aetna is a great company to work for. It offers its employees great benefits; however, many employees are not aware of all that is offered to them. They may have to dig a bit to learn of what is available.

    Cons

Many of the middle managers at Aetna do not support their employees. Rather, they are in it for themselves and will throw their employees under the bus.

    Advice to Management

Work as a team with your subordinates.
