Cons

Employee Pay cuts and job cuts to make a profit for the company. Some Managers would not update the staff, and would have to be informed by other Department staff.

Advice to Management

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    It's a job.
Co-workers are, for the most part, in the same boat and are fine people.
Most floor supervisors in charge of groups were fair.

    Cons

Any promotions are done on the fly and given to people untrained for management, therefore, are incapable of running an efficient group.

    Training was almost non-existent.

The "knowledge base" was a joke. Some of that 6B in profits should be used to build an efficient call-center program.

Compter "tools" used by phone operators were piece-meal, scattered and not customized to the operator's true needs.

Constant phone calls back-to-back with no break without ruining your "quota".

Six total minutes per call expectation is absolutely ABSURD. That's about the time it takes to get the account data out of the customer / caller.

Floor supervisors will covertly "listen" to your call with a client on a random basis. This may be used for your benefit - however, it is mainly used to the phone operators detriment. If you don't want a phone operator giving out incorrect informaiton - give them PROPER training!! (Which we didn't have)

It's nice to pretend that you are working for Apple, but the reality is that you are working for a low-rent, numbers (not quality) driven tread-mill / sweat shop.

    Advice to Management

Work on QUALITY - not quantity of phone calls.

Stop micro-managing. Allow the support people to do their job.

Only promote floor managers, supervisors, etc that have management training. Giving "power" to people that don't know how to handle themselves without being demeaning, belittling, cruel or full of themselves is very unbecoming to a company that is supposedly a support company for Apple.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    Salaries are average
Good opportunities to develop skills in areas such as ISO, ITIL and quality standards
Some training opportunities for some employees

    Cons

Offshoring is a joke, its murdering the service to customers and causing even more work for onshore staff
Promotions without compensation is the norm, unless you're already at least in middle management

    Advice to Management

Start recognising excellent work. Stop pursuing ideas/concepts that aren't working. Stop treating employees as numbers, treat them like people and recognize that while you can hire people for cheaper offshore, the quality of work will also be cheaper.
