I have been working at Air Canada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Nice, intelligent people & informal atmosphere
    - Excellent travel benefits - albeit it is standby travel. I have travelled to many parts of the world at very cheap prices with my family and friends
    - Interesting and challenging work
    - Great work/life balance
    - Patriotic feeling to work for the flag carrier

    Cons

    - Lack of advancement opportunities. Promotions are rare and only happen if you are lucky and after years of service
    - No innovation is encouraged as management does not want to make any daring moves
    - Low salaries means most young people leave after a short period of time
    - Limited vacation time
    - Limited group activities or company events

    Advice to Management

Offer more competitive salaries if you want to retain your talented staff otherwise you will lose your best people. If you want culture change actively pursue it yourself. Listen to your young generation - they have some innovative ideas that could transform this company.
