Pros

ATP is a smallish company where everyone knows everyone. The company allows, if not encourages employee sponsored parties and get-togethers, the company even throws a few itself. The benefits are pretty good as well with medical, dental, decent 401K with a financial planner on the books to help out if you want the advice.

Cons

The turnover rate of some of the upper management positions seem to be high these past couple of years. This does not bode well for morale in the troops overall.

It seems when a person does exceptional at something, even shows initiative and imagination, the company responds by giving a small bonus, an awards paper, and a pat on the head. Then back to work as normal. Even despite encouragement from middle management, promotions and advancement seem to be out of reach.

ATP does not pay well. Well below what other companies pay similar positions. If you are looking for mindless temp-work, this is a great place to start (if it is available).

While the company is *trying* to update itself technologically, many key systems are still stuck in the 90s. These key systems are crucial to the production line and even with continuous hassles from the people who have to work with the system, there are no plans (which I am aware of) to update.

Advice to Management

Listen to the people who you employ. Middle management can only do so much before more resources are required from you.
