Approves of CEO

Pros

International Mobility Opportunities
Learn from extremely experienced people in telecom
Above average basic salary

Cons

Struggling company that cannot seem to turn the business around completely
Good Old Boys club makes it hard to penetrate Sr Management
Average age is relatively old
Company misses true identity - not really #1 in any of its business
Next 5 years is critical to survival of company: It is either going to be hugely successful or disappear

Advice to Management

Make the hard decisions. Create an identity. Cut the lines of business where we cannot be #1 or #. Within that process you create a lean focused market leading business with plenty of cash in its pockets from the spin offs / LOB sales. We cannot do it all.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    - Good work and life balance
    - Work with a lot of cool technologies and new ideas
    - Strong customer base in telecommunication industry
    - Good place to gain experiences if given chance to work on overseas projects

    Cons

    - No proper staffs competency management
    - No career advancement, mid management prefers to promote someone from outside
    - No salary increment for 3+ years
    - No proper direction from mid and upper management
    - Too many mid-level management (Director & Manager) that don't actually understand how to deliver and to properly lead teams of engineers
    - Longer working years don't always mean a secured job
    - Because of all of the above, the company fails to retain their best talents

    Advice to Management

Promote someone that can do proper jobs, not just pick anyone that always say Yes to management request. We need someone that can contribute fresh ideas, work differently and effectively. We don't need someone that always say "Yes" but not able to deliver, like most of mid-level managers in the company now.
Secondly, reduce the time to market, react faster to customer requests. We could not manage to lose to competitors in the region.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great work life balance, Organisation changes at the drop of a hat, which is good for employees. Creates an opportunity for employees to move around within the company.
Lots of training, some of the best I have seen globally - but online only!

    Cons

Work culture is very laid back... employees are not motivated.
Promotions are non existent. It is Largely due to the financial position of the company.
Very few people you find are passionate about their work,
