I worked at Alcoa full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits, vacation time, bonuses and relaxed environment

    Cons

too many middle managers, too much micromanagement, alot of execs having no idea what goes on, or turning a blind eye.

    Advice to Management

Look under your nose to see what is truly going on in your company. Don't take what higher managers say as gospel, they may be covering up to save themselves.

I have been working at Alcoa full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good colleagues, and nice supervisor too. Stable work environment before the financial crisis. Very traditional and process oriented. Cares about people, at least appears to be so.

    Cons

Too conservative and too many rules. Slow progress in almost everything. Won't hesitate for cost cut.

    Advice to Management

Invest on people, be more liberate and get rid of the old habits and stringent rules
