I have been working at Alcoa full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful benefits and a lot of opportunity-as long as you're willing to transfer.

    Cons

Overall compensation. Merit increases and performance pay for non-manager/professionals is not good.

    Advice to Management

Have more skip level meetings with the plant employees. Remember not all of your plants are union. Provide more mid-managers with corporate training-don't leave that up to the BU. Tactical experience doesn't fill the gap for the lack of leadership training.

    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Alcoa full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Competitive salary and benefits. Good work life balance in some departments.

    Cons

Personality of the company has changed for the worse. Forced ranking introduced last year, which is a big demotivator, even for those who aren't forced to the bottom. The future of the company is unstable.

    Advice to Management

Think of the masses who have spent their lives trying to build up this company and provide quality products. Think less about yourself and what Alcoa can do for your pocketbook..
