Pros

The People. There are some really great people at this company. If it weren't for the people, the company would be nothing.

Cons

The workload. Endless stream of sales but no backend operations support due to lack of good working environment. They cant keep people here.

Advice to Management

Figure out how to get more people on staff and up to speed quicker to help save the company from failure.

I have been working at Aldera full-time

    Pros

a few nice colleagues, but those are getting few.

    Cons

Sweat shop mentality. Management over sells and under-delivers.
Hard work is rarely recognized. Generally, those who go drinking and schmooze with the bosses get the raises and promotions. The people doing the work can go years on end without a performance review or pay increase. All while working 10 -20 hours of overtime a week.
Software company that has no interest in actually building software.
Refused to hire technical talent and as a result the technology is stale and out of date. Layoff always hit the software engineers first. Development is the smallest group in the company.
A couple years of layoffs every few months is now being followed by a constant stream of resignations.
Questionable whether there is enough talent left to keep the company afloat.
A ton of Chief, VPs and directors but very few people to actually do the work.

    Advice to Management

Take some management courses. Get to know your people - reward the people who are moving the company forward. Focus on building a stable product. Change to corporate culture to encourage working together to succeed instead of trying to figure out who to blame for the failures.

I worked at Aldera full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some good people who care about customers and want them to be successful.

    Cons

Dreadful leadership if any at all, employees are treated terribly. There is little or no comradierie as everyone fears the leadership. There are a few people who are valued but most are not. Many good people have gone either of their own accord or otherwise because of the poor management.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue what the market really thinks of you and lead rather than rule by intimidation.
