I worked at Alliant International University full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Benefits are great. Some of the supervisors are wonderful mentors. Great employees.

Cons

Going through a lot of change right now. Trying to find its brand. Mostly hire or promote individuals who are not competent at what they need to achieve their goals.

Advice to Management

Have clear goals and objectives as to what they would like to accomplish and hire qualified individuals that can help them get there. Do a complete assessment of your current organizational structure, systems and leadership.

I worked at Alliant International University as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The majority of the staff and professors are great to work with. Salary and benefits are fair at best unless you are senior management. Has a more casual work environment and a very diverse client population (e.g. students) and workforce.

    Cons

Unfortunately the culture that has been created and maintained due to the continual failings of senior management has brought the company down. The culture fluctuates in terms of toxicity, resulting in its failure to fully live up to it mission.

    Advice to Management

The main focus is upon serving students. You must be more proactive and less reactive. No pun intended, do not kill new projects before doing your homework first. Develop a more agile mindset and limit traditionalist thinking. Last thing, how can you justify paying the CEO more than almost every other CEO in a majority universities 10x Alliant’s size? Having someone that lines his pocket while tuition increases and staff are laid off due to poor management of resources, simply a disgrace. Odd how his last name seems to say more about his character.
