    Negative Outlook

I worked at Alliant Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The engineers are good people who care about each other, their customers and technology. They put enormous energy into shielding customers from management incompetency and helping one another.

    Cons

Management is proliferated by self-serving, grandiose individuals who churn and burn staff. There is no training or opportunity to develop or improve skills. Any new ideas are quickly squashed and belittled.

    Advice to Management

Treat the staff like they are heart of the company rather then play lip service to this.

    Pros

Due to the size of the company it is possible to be exposed to multiple technologies. As the trend towards to Unified Datacenters, having this exposure into the different disciplines is a valuable addition to the resume.

Gain the skillset and move on to bigger and better things.

    Cons

    Zero Career Development.
No budget for training related to career discipline.
Salaries are nowhere near market competitiveness.
Improve the communication from senior leadership.
    High employee turnover.

    Advice to Management

Have more respect for engineering, although sales is what drives the business, the engineers implement the solutions and develop and nurture the client relationship.
