I worked at Allstate Northern Ireland full-time

    Pros

Nothing special - better benefits in most other IT companies

    Cons

Run by a petty spiteful HR - MD seems to want newspaper columns rather than looking after business. Avoid at all costs - much better real IT companies out there that pay so much better. Old technology. Filled with empire builders.

    Advice to Management

Actually manage for a change rather than bullying

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Allstate Northern Ireland full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Can't think of many good reasons to work at Allstate NI. To an entry level worker it may be tempting but only if you are willing to gamble on Allstate NI's reputation reflecting on you at future interviews.

    Cons

    Non-competitive remuneration.
Senior management issues. Very top down.
In-sourcing is a first rather than last resort, high impact on quality, communication, and ambience.
Expectation is that you will not advance so ignore talk of 'career development'.

    Advice to Management

Profitability remains a problem at Allstate NI, the company has serious, unaddressed structural problems. Since the problems began in 2008 there have been no high profile departures, should tell you all you need to know.
