I have been working at Allstate full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Up to date systems, transparent pricing and excellent work environment.

Cons

Limited commercial and Farm market. Also successful agents will have to be managers of a small business not sales people. Insurance Companies who use a captive agent distribution system are moving to fewer agencies with higher policy counts. In order to succeed agents have to manage their sales and service staff and do less selling themselves. This is a trend that has been underway for the last 10 years.

I have been working at Allstate full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary and vacation time. Ok benefits. Great peers to work with.

    Cons

Good manager is luck of the draw

    Advice to Management

More training needed for employee mentoring and encouragement of positive outcomes. Less micro-managing and "trapping employees".

I have been working at Allstate full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pros are decent salary and work with some fun people

    Cons

Working late night's I mean into 1:30 in the morning that includes weekends, it's become agency support so you can only max out your monthly bonus to 2400 a month. Too much micro management. People are dropping like flies because of the new changes I've been there less than 3 months and I'm already looking for a change. I know Allstate is a great company but right now working there just isn't worth it

    Advice to Management

Get back to commission based structure and m-f day time hours people don't want to be working the same hours as a bartender for a professional type job.
