I worked at Allstate full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

It is a great company for working moms. It offers flexible schedule, two days per week working from home, health club, several cafeterias, etc. Company offers a lot of PTO (Paid Time Off: vacation + sick days). Employees are offered to buy additional 5 PTO days per year and can transfer 5 days from previous year.

Cons

Salaries rise extremely slow, and it is very difficult to grow into management position unless you have strong connections. Business has tendency to get outsourced to India and Europe regardless the cost of re-work. Company lays off employees periodically (approximately once per 18 - 24 months).

Advice to Management

It is just a philosophical food for thought: people are more important than all money, stock price, etc in the world.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Allstate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

VERY FLEXIBLE. UNDERSTANDING MANAGEMENT WITH A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE TO WORK WITH. WE HAVE BECOME A FAMILY.

    Cons

WORKLOAD IS TOO HEAVY FOR THE MINIMAL PAY. THEY NEED TO KEEP UP WITH THE OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES AND PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES WHAT THEY WORTH.

    Advice to Management

Please evaluate people fairly and allow the performance reviews to be based on the employee, not politics. The managers seem to rate people unfairly to have a reason not to give a proper raise. People should be rewarded for their hard work and performance.

    Pros

    Cons

    - Products often difficult to sell because of pricing

    - Agencies often make the rules up as they go, not a very formal type of contract within agency
    - Should have a more effective training program for employees
    - Need more incentives
