I have been working at Allstate full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Opportunity to work on many varied projects. Benefits are good.

Cons

Personal agendas undermine project goals. Seems mgmt is only concerned with protecting their ASS-ets in case the project doesn't deliver. Happens all the time. Not isolated.

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees regarding past campaigns. Every new mgr revisits the same issues with the same approach that didn't work previously. Of course, the results are the same. Apply definition of insanity here...

I have been working at Allstate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Allstate has a very warm corporate culture. I genuinely like the people I work with, & I believe that the company cares about the long term success of its employees. Allstate has many long term employees, & to advance up the ladder you have to do things differently. Flexible work schedules, remote working, & over 20 days of PTO are great perks as well.

    Cons

Many people struggle to advance at Allstate. You have to know people, impress the right people, & network effectively. The culture can vary a lot from department to department. You could work in one department & have complete work from home flexibility, then have it forbidden in another department where the work is identical.

    Advice to Management

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got. Look around at the departments that are innovating & have a 21st century mind-set.

I have been working at Allstate full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Promotions are easy if you know someone, or if the right person is in your corner.

    Cons

If the right people don't like you, it takes forever to change that image.

    Advice to Management

Use common sense. It will pay off.
