    Pros

Great opportunity to work with senior level clientele to drive value for their organizations. Firm provides significant exposure to upper level management for newer consultants and analysts.

    Cons

Not a lot of training or onboarding for newer consultants and analysts forces new hires to learn on the job and ask a lot of questions.

    Advice to Management

Set up a more formal onboarding process for newer employees.

I have been working at Alvarez & Marsal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the people are hardworking and driven. There are some who are truly smart and entrepreneurial, but they are a very small minority.

    Cons

Company does not consistently recruit at a high level. Don't know how to retain and develop the good employees. Quality of leadership varies greatly. Markets themselves as world class company, but staff is not always up to par and internal processes and systems are twentieth century.

    Advice to Management

Walk the talk! Practice what you preach. Need to better compensate, develop and retain top tier employees (management believes they do, but they're out of touch with the marketplace), especially when travel can be as much as 90%. Being a service provider, company needs to focus on its people first and foremost!
