Pros

You are a part of a company on the cutting edge of ecommerce technology. When working with other companies you have a considerable degree of clout given Amazon's place in the marketplace. Great focus on the customer experience as well as amazing efficiencies on the operations side.

Cons

Given it's size and success, Amazon has a difficult time "playing well with others." They commonly engage in bullying and stonewalling their partners and this makes it difficult to build long term positive relationships.

Advice to Management

Treat your partners with the same respect you treat your customers.

    Pros

The energy and pace of growth makes it a really exciting place to work. Coworkers are generally interesting and fun people. Work environment is casual with a true open door policy, lots of manic panic in the hair of management, and other similar monikers of a laid back internet company culture.

    Cons

Communication about initiatives is a bit lacking, things move so fast you need to take responsibility for your own development. Work/life balance can get out of hand and you have to learn to place limits on your own time. If you let yourself work 24 hours a day, there's plenty of work to do but you need to manage your own time.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication, focus on developing people. work on training new management so that as we grow our culture and values are not diluted. be wary of administrative nonesense one of the things that makes amazon work is the freshness and energy of the company, we need to find the balance between necessary structures that enhance accountability and bureaucratic red tape.

    Pros

It is one of the most innovative companies on the planet that never sits back and rests. Amazon has a humble approach to everything which I find very appealing in today's world of companies screaming about how great they are.

Amazon also has an extremely high hiring bar, and the company is loaded with really smart people. That makes it easy to come to work in the morning.

    Cons

Amazon is unlike most companies out there, and this can sometimes be a problem for new employees, especially those not right our of school and have worked at other companies. Our culture is a little different, and our priorities are little different.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing-- stay focused on the customer.
