I worked at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

There are a lot of experienced engineers on board and there are always plenty of resources to guide you if you need help.

Cons

One's experience varies team to team. My manager didn't seem very interested in making sure employees are happy. I communicated with my managed for less than an hour during my entire stay at Amazon

Advice to Management

They really need to consider looking after their employees before the company gets out of control. Being frugal is okay to a certain limit but I think they cross the line a lot of times.

I worked at Amazon as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros, it was the worst job I have ever had.

    Cons

This is the worst working environment I have ever been involved with. Verbal abuse is rampant and the politics and back stabbing is encourage by upper management. If this is the future of American companies, good luck.

    Advice to Management

Your brainwashing attempts are amateur at best. Get a life.

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You can say you have a job.

    Cons

Hot in summer, cold in winter, unrealistic production goals that are subject to change at any moment. Managers either drink the Amazon Kool-Aid, or are terminated. The only way to tolerate working for these people is to buy into their program totally, keep your mouth shut, and work your a>> off. Do not anticipate any advancement whatsoever, unless you are a real good friend of someone in management.

    Advice to Management

Get real. People are human beings, not dogs or robots, and would appreciate being treated with respect.
