Current Employee - IT Senior Director in Dallas, TX

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Amdocs full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Relatively secure, if your job getting cut from one department - you can be re-assigned to another project or another client across the world, do international relocation as company is global

    Cons

Salary below market average; most of production support sites or customer sites have challenging work-life balance issues, key employees work too hard

    Advice to Management

Develop and nurture the culture of respect to employees, take care of employees more rather than squeeze every dollar out of them; eliminate corporate limitations (manager can't hire employees if their salary above min company set, requires additional approval)

    Pros

Multicultural and inclusive environment Growing Opportunities Learning Programs Able to work remotely

    Cons

Although steps have been taken to reduce it, there is still a feeling that the company should be better tracking performance in some corporate teams.

    Advice to Management

Continue the efforts to build a sustainable pool of Talents instead of relying on Expats in a long term perspective. Keep investing in corporate improvements to help us improve the employee experience everyday.

I have been working at Amdocs full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Overall Amdocs is a great company to work for. You get to work on the technology running some of the largest companies in the world. There are mostly technical roles, but a few non tech as well. If you have cellphone, you have probably interacted with Amdocs software in some way or another and didn't even know it. The Perks.... A fully stocked kitchen with free coffee, tea, snack foods, and breakfast items. An activity room with exercise equipment and game tables. Behind the office is a nice park area with walking paths and a pond. Major holidays are celebrated with parties in the park, offsite catered events, and individual team project events. The Company.... There are many different units, divisions, and teams. A typical large organization that spans just about every country in the world. This means learning about different cultures, getting to travel the world, and relocation opportunities if that's your thing. Amdocs is a software company that has been around for 30+ years, so you'll find legacy software as well as the latest and greatest technology. The company started out as a software company for phone directories (yellow pages), moved to wireline, wireless, and most recently media and other industries. Amdocs is a company that has reinvented itself to be on top of technology and industry trends and continues doing so today. If you choose Amdocs be ready for a unlimited learning, a fast paced environment, good pay, and never a boring day.

    Cons

Amdocs is a very fast paced and demanding work environment. There are continuous improvement expectations This is not a 9-5 feet on the desk type of job. It requires strong analytical skills, ability to solve complex technical challenges, and navigating culture differences. Expect to be challenged and pushed out of your comfort zone. Some people enjoy this because it will help you grow and others are put off by it.
